Life’s A Beach

In this chapter of the Mendeleev ISBI, since I’ve remembered my previous plans and the children are getting old enough for outings, the Mendeleevs will be going on their first family outing! Yayyyy.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.15.42 AM

Rubidium: Daddd! Why would you clean up the dishes when there was still food on them. Even if it was just bits of rotten lettuce and tomato.

Krypton: I’m too tired for this right now.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.15.56 AM

Krypton: WHARGARRBL.

Today just does not seem to be his day.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.16.51 AM

Lucky: Ooh, look! I’m Ruby’s dad and I just got BLASTED in the face with a stream of water! Bahaha!

Rubidium: Can you shut up and let me do my homework?

Good girl.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.18.07 AM

Strontium is just about ready to age up to child, so we can make do with two cribs for the time being.

Strontium: WAHH TIRED!

Laurel: I just thought I’d put the baby in…

Oh Laurel.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.18.57 AM

Rubidium: The shower is broken.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.19.12 AM

Rubidium: THIS MAKES ME VERY ANGRY!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.20.11 AM

She then goes to play with the mirror in the kids’ room.

Rubidium: Pow pow at the crying baby!

D8 Rubidium, I think you just crossed a line there…

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.22.27 AM

Good Gal Laurel actually takes care of the baby today instead of painting.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.27.08 AM

Off to the Wolff family after school again. I’m not sure why Rubidium always goes to that house, because I’m pretty sure she’s not friends with those kids or anything. Actually, right now in the game, she’s not friends with anyone…

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.28.57 AM

Gator: I like mice.

Wilhelmina (who will henceforth be Mina if I’m feeling lazy): Awesome! I like pouncing them and hearing them squeak in terror! They’re good practice for larger game.

Gator: … I meant computer mice…

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.29.06 AM

Rubidium: Hell yes, just gonna ignore my hosts on the swing until curfew!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.38.52 AM

Remember how I said Ruby has no friends? Yeah? Well, here’s Krypton trying to befriend her, since their relationship’s drifted since she became a child.

Oh, and there’s Strontium in the back. #whocares

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.39.13 AM

Strontium: That was hurtful.

Sorry. His new trait is, um… *starts up game* Well, he’s perceptive, never nude, and athletic. I’m sure if I went back I would be able to find out which was the new one, but *shrug*

He’s a little cutie patootie, though.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.39.59 AM

Why did I take this picture? I am not sure. Maybe to show that Strontium actually cleans up his messes.

Rubidium: But there was food on that. ;_;

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.41.28 AM

Laurel tries to steal the kids away from school with a ghost story, but they are having none of it. Good call, kids.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.42.39 AM

Rubidium: I want a chemistry table.

Laurel: I’ll fight you for it.

O… kay then.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.44.20 AM

Birthday times for the twins!

Laurel: Almost done with babies!

Your husband had 3 out of 4 wish spaces having to do with having kids.

Laurel: Dammit.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.44.48 AM

Pretty sure this is Yttrium. *checks* Yup.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.46.59 AM

Post makeover. Her arms refuse to bend as she plays with blocks.

Yttrium: I has elbow pwoblems!

Yup.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.51.32 AM

I apparently don’t have any pictures of Zirconium, but here are the twins with their matching IFs, Stars and Stripes.

I was having a tough time thinking of match-y names when I named them, but still wanted to go with match-y names. What’s a simmer to do?

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.55.53 AM

The first family outing is to the beach, which I regretted pretty quickly. The twins were left home as there was not much for them to do, and I didn’t want to cut the outing short to put them down for nappies.

Rubidium: I bet I look funny dressed like a princess at the beach.

Krypton: *pissed face*

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.56.34 AM

Rubidium: I’m like Melody from Little Mermaid 2, returning to the sea.

Why are you referencing a sequel?

Rubidium: This legacy is a sequel.

Fair enough.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.56.51 AM

Strontium tans like a boss. Except I don’t have Seasons installed anymore. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.57.12 AM

Laurel: It’s just like a swimming pool!

Let’s just stand knee-deep in the water without changing out of our jeans!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.57.46 AM

Rubidium: Well, I’m off!

Where are you going?

Rubidium: Away from these losers.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.58.08 AM

Meanwhile, Laurel tries to see how far she can swim while completely submerged in water.

You see why I regret this, now? Drowning is like the only way a sim child can die.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.58.36 AM

That is how far out Rubidium went. Please don’t drown. D8

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.59.32 AM

Burglar: And now to swim back to my secret underwater lair! The cops will NEVER catch me!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.59.48 AM

I tell Krypton to make some hot dogs to try and lure his family back to the safety of dry land. Um… where did those come from?

Krypton: My swim trunks.

Um… ew.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 10.00.32 AM

Not you too, Strontium!

Strontium: I’m gonna find Atlantis!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 10.01.01 AM

Unfortunately, Krypton’s bait only lures his wife back to shore, since the kids aren’t technically part of the ‘group’. Which I feel is a lack of planning, the ability to have other adults at your beck and call while the sim children are allowed to roam free.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.31.46 PM

Laurel returns home shortly after.

Laurel: The kitchen is disgusting.

Going to do something about it?

Laurel: I think I’ll paint instead.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.33.03 PM

Meanwhile, the kids are swimming and I’m praying they don’t drown.

In hindsight, I could have used Strontium’s child interaction to get him to shore, at least. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.34.45 PM

Rubidium: I’m hungry. *completely disregards zombie fairy*

But at least she’s out of the water, and therefore safe.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.35.22 PM

Ah… young ghost love.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.35.49 PM

Rubidium: That ghost couple traumatized me, so instead of eating I’m going back in the water.

Oh why oh why oh why.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.37.34 PM

It was about midnight in sim time when the kids finally started heading out of the water and going home. Never again am I taking them to the beach. NEVER AGAIN.

  1. Hi 🙂 I heard about this ISBI from Susan *points above* and spent the last minutes reading your chapters here. Your idiots still behave pretty well (except staying in the water the entire day), and I can’t wait to see where they take you. Next step for me: rushing over to the first part of your legacy and reading that. If you have some free time at your hands at some point, you are very welcome to have a look at my ISBI here: http://isbi-amhranai.blogspot.de/ I just started Gen 2, so there’s not THAT much to read at the moment. 😀

  2. Literally the entire time I read this chapter my internal monologue was “please don’t die please don’t die” over and over. An ISBI is something I want to do after I finish my current legacy (even though I’ve just started it) and I’m never. ever. ever. taking them to a swimming pool or beach after this chapter.

  3. Lol, I never thought about how dangerous the beach can be when you’re uncontrolled! Would not be surprised if a sim swam too far out and drowned themselves, you were right to be worried!
