Generic Title Here

‘Ello, everyone! It’s been… a week since the last post, about. I thought it was a lot longer than that, but I guess time flies in college. Especially when your effectively-four-day-weekend is suddenly shortened because you’re observing a classroom on Mondays and Fridays…

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.42.04 PM

Krypton wanted another baby, so I humored him. I will come to regret that decision. That is not an ‘I’ve played ahead’ prediction-that’s-not-a-prediction, this is an actual prediction. I think that four-five kids in a generation is about my limit before I start pulling my hair out and questioning my poor judgment. Usually the youngest kids annoy me and I wish they’d just crawl back into their mother again. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.42.52 PM

Good girl, Laurel! Who’s a good girl? Who’s a good girl? You are!

Laurel: I think you already did that joke. And it’s still not funny.

I can’t install Pets; I gotta get my dog-love in somehow. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.43.36 PM

Mina: *snicker* Look at her nose.

Um, you’re one to talk. Someone take a chainsaw to those nails or something; if she plays tag, whoever she tags when she’s ‘it’ is gonna bleed out on the playground!

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.44.15 PM

Rubidium has more important things to deal with than her rude friend. Namely, her mother, who likely spent all day painting rather than caring for the twins. If she actually did her job as mother, I think I would have gotten some pictures again.

Rubidium: You spend so much time on that easel that you’re not even friends with any of your kids!

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.44.39 PM

Laurel: I never! I need to calm my nerves with painting…

Except the easel is the kids’ favorite place to play with IFs, apparently.

Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure the reason why my non-THs are so productive is that there’s nothing else to do in the house at this point other than skill really.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.45.32 PM

Mina: Don’t mind me, just scratching up furniture.

Thanks kid, we really needed that.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.46.19 PM

Laurel: I think something might be wrong with my daughter.

Rubidium: Now you pay attention. :’ (

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.47.43 PM

Since Rubidium had no friends, not a single one, I sent Krypton to hang out with her. Talk to his daughter and all that.

She responds by biting his head off.

Rubidium: You leave us alone to be ignored by mom while you’re at work, so don’t pretend you’re any better!

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.48.01 PM

Krypton rolled the want to stop being friends with his own daughter.

Krypton: I can’t help that she’s got a stick up her ass!

The pop-up in the corner is the secret he told her… maybe that’s what set her off.

Rubidium: Don’t tell me, Dad, go get a therapist… and sign me up for a session too. : (

Stop making me feel guilty, Ruby. : (

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.48.18 PM

Krypton: You know what? It’s late, and a school night. You’re probably grumpy because you’re tired. Why don’t you go to bed.

Rubidium: Why don’t you EXPLETIVES DELETED.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.48.34 PM

Bitten by a radioactive puke stain, she is…

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.51.57 PM

She goes to work for a bit and promptly gets kicked out when she pops.

Laurel: Like clockwork.

Apparently sim pregnancy is super intense, and you have to take leave as soon as you start showing. But you can still spend all day fishing or running around town collecting bugs and rocks.

Laurel: It’s an insurance thing. They don’t want to be liable. The office doesn’t care what I do with this baby in me when I’m not under their watch.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.52.13 PM

Baby skilling time!

I’m usually pretty lax in my skilling of the toddlers, and this is even moreso for ISBIs. I’m sure it’ll (maybe) be different if I get a stay-at-home TH though. Possibly.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.53.26 PM

Rubidum: What’s this? Mother actually taking care of the toddlers? I approve. But I could still do better.

You’re still just a kid, so you can’t do anything when they’re in their cribs. Or change diapers.

Rubidium: You’ll see.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.55.00 PM

RUBIDIUM is evolving!

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.04.44 PM

Congratulations! Your RUBIDIUM has evolved into TEEN RUBIDIUM!

She gained the trait ‘loves the outdoors’.

Which apparently translates into ‘fairy child’ in my mind. But a grumpy fairy child. With no friends.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.05.13 PM

Rubidium: It’s okay, Yttrium. I’ll take care of you. Since mom won’t. *glare*

Laurel: Cool, now I don’t even have to actually take care of the kids!

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.09.49 PM

Krypton rekindles his marriage with his wife by challenging her to a chess match.

Probably could’ve chosen some better ways, but whatever.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.10.15 PM

Sink: *is booby trapped*

Now let’s play the game where we see how much my sims actually use the toilet without washing their hands.

… ewww

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.10.55 PM

Rubidium and Krypton try to be friends again with MOAR CHESS.

Rubidium: You know, you should have a sculpture instead of a painting. It’s more interesting.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.11.18 PM

Krypton: I’d be really happy with a sculpture of myself, actually.

Not gonna happen in an ISBI, though.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.12.45 PM

I like to think that Laurel paid attention to her daughter’s new trait and made this painting as a peace offering.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.13.04 PM

What about you?

Lucky: I get NO face time.

You’re the imaginary friend of a sim I can’t control.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.13.41 PM

Lucky: Listen, missy. You better be voted heir so I can become real and we can get married.

Rubidium: Um… ew?

Lucky: You’re right, I can probably do better than you.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.13.58 PM

Krypton has a birthday. I don’t really care, except it means that Laurel’s closer to her birthday, which means i can order her to paint a portrait.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.14.36 PM

Rubidium: It was Lucky, I swear. >_> <_<

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.15.01 PM

Laurel: You’ve blamed your imaginary friend too long for your misdeeds!

Laurel: One, we’re not friends. I have a sliver of relationship in my bar. Two… why is this the ONE time you’re not looking at your easel?

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.15.45 PM

Well, as you can probably guess, Rubidium still has NO friends, so I send Krypton to help her with her homework, which will hopefully raise relationship? Two birds, one stone. Maybe.

Rubidium: Dad, it’s late; I think I’m gonna go to bed.

Krypton: Yeah, I’m tired too. Finish this tomorrow before school?

Rubidium: Not a chance.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.19.14 PM

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.19.51 PM

Of. Course. It’s twins.

I have no right to sound annoyed because I’m pretty sure I gave Krypton the fertility treatment?

We got a girl named Niobium (virtuoso and heavy sleeper) and a boy named Molybdenum (excitable and loves the outdoors).

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.22.13 PM

Rubidium: More kids to ignore, Mom?

Laurel: I don’t appreciate your lip, missy.

Lucky: Yeah! Listen to your mother!

Yeah, I actually have no idea what’s happening in this picture.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.29.27 PM

Oh, and the other twins grew up into children. Zirconium is insane, hot-headed, and athletic. I’m sure she’ll have just as many friends as Rubidium has with her grumpy trait.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.32.22 PM

Yttrium (gotta remember it’s Yttrium and not Ytterbium : P) is a clumsy excitable coward. Great traits if she gets in a horror movie, she’ll be the one running screaming from the monster until she trips on her own two feet and faints.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 7.33.35 PM

I leave you with Zirconium being told a scary story in the middle of the night. The night before her first day of school.

Life’s A Beach

In this chapter of the Mendeleev ISBI, since I’ve remembered my previous plans and the children are getting old enough for outings, the Mendeleevs will be going on their first family outing! Yayyyy.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.15.42 AM

Rubidium: Daddd! Why would you clean up the dishes when there was still food on them. Even if it was just bits of rotten lettuce and tomato.

Krypton: I’m too tired for this right now.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.15.56 AM

Today just does not seem to be his day.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.16.51 AM

Lucky: Ooh, look! I’m Ruby’s dad and I just got BLASTED in the face with a stream of water! Bahaha!

Rubidium: Can you shut up and let me do my homework?

Good girl.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.18.07 AM

Strontium is just about ready to age up to child, so we can make do with two cribs for the time being.

Strontium: WAHH TIRED!

Laurel: I just thought I’d put the baby in…

Oh Laurel.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.18.57 AM

Rubidium: The shower is broken.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.19.12 AM

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.20.11 AM

She then goes to play with the mirror in the kids’ room.

Rubidium: Pow pow at the crying baby!

D8 Rubidium, I think you just crossed a line there…

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.22.27 AM

Good Gal Laurel actually takes care of the baby today instead of painting.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.27.08 AM

Off to the Wolff family after school again. I’m not sure why Rubidium always goes to that house, because I’m pretty sure she’s not friends with those kids or anything. Actually, right now in the game, she’s not friends with anyone…

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.28.57 AM

Gator: I like mice.

Wilhelmina (who will henceforth be Mina if I’m feeling lazy): Awesome! I like pouncing them and hearing them squeak in terror! They’re good practice for larger game.

Gator: … I meant computer mice…

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.29.06 AM

Rubidium: Hell yes, just gonna ignore my hosts on the swing until curfew!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.38.52 AM

Remember how I said Ruby has no friends? Yeah? Well, here’s Krypton trying to befriend her, since their relationship’s drifted since she became a child.

Oh, and there’s Strontium in the back. #whocares

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.39.13 AM

Strontium: That was hurtful.

Sorry. His new trait is, um… *starts up game* Well, he’s perceptive, never nude, and athletic. I’m sure if I went back I would be able to find out which was the new one, but *shrug*

He’s a little cutie patootie, though.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.39.59 AM

Why did I take this picture? I am not sure. Maybe to show that Strontium actually cleans up his messes.

Rubidium: But there was food on that. ;_;

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.41.28 AM

Laurel tries to steal the kids away from school with a ghost story, but they are having none of it. Good call, kids.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.42.39 AM

Rubidium: I want a chemistry table.

Laurel: I’ll fight you for it.

O… kay then.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.44.20 AM

Birthday times for the twins!

Laurel: Almost done with babies!

Your husband had 3 out of 4 wish spaces having to do with having kids.

Laurel: Dammit.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.44.48 AM

Pretty sure this is Yttrium. *checks* Yup.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.46.59 AM

Post makeover. Her arms refuse to bend as she plays with blocks.

Yttrium: I has elbow pwoblems!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.51.32 AM

I apparently don’t have any pictures of Zirconium, but here are the twins with their matching IFs, Stars and Stripes.

I was having a tough time thinking of match-y names when I named them, but still wanted to go with match-y names. What’s a simmer to do?

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.55.53 AM

The first family outing is to the beach, which I regretted pretty quickly. The twins were left home as there was not much for them to do, and I didn’t want to cut the outing short to put them down for nappies.

Rubidium: I bet I look funny dressed like a princess at the beach.

Krypton: *pissed face*

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.56.34 AM

Rubidium: I’m like Melody from Little Mermaid 2, returning to the sea.

Why are you referencing a sequel?

Rubidium: This legacy is a sequel.

Fair enough.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.56.51 AM

Strontium tans like a boss. Except I don’t have Seasons installed anymore. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.57.12 AM

Laurel: It’s just like a swimming pool!

Let’s just stand knee-deep in the water without changing out of our jeans!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.57.46 AM

Rubidium: Well, I’m off!

Where are you going?

Rubidium: Away from these losers.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.58.08 AM

Meanwhile, Laurel tries to see how far she can swim while completely submerged in water.

You see why I regret this, now? Drowning is like the only way a sim child can die.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.58.36 AM

That is how far out Rubidium went. Please don’t drown. D8

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.59.32 AM

Burglar: And now to swim back to my secret underwater lair! The cops will NEVER catch me!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.59.48 AM

I tell Krypton to make some hot dogs to try and lure his family back to the safety of dry land. Um… where did those come from?

Krypton: My swim trunks.

Um… ew.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 10.00.32 AM

Not you too, Strontium!

Strontium: I’m gonna find Atlantis!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 10.01.01 AM

Unfortunately, Krypton’s bait only lures his wife back to shore, since the kids aren’t technically part of the ‘group’. Which I feel is a lack of planning, the ability to have other adults at your beck and call while the sim children are allowed to roam free.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.31.46 PM

Laurel returns home shortly after.

Laurel: The kitchen is disgusting.

Going to do something about it?

Laurel: I think I’ll paint instead.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.33.03 PM

Meanwhile, the kids are swimming and I’m praying they don’t drown.

In hindsight, I could have used Strontium’s child interaction to get him to shore, at least. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.34.45 PM

Rubidium: I’m hungry. *completely disregards zombie fairy*

But at least she’s out of the water, and therefore safe.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.35.22 PM

Ah… young ghost love.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.35.49 PM

Rubidium: That ghost couple traumatized me, so instead of eating I’m going back in the water.

Oh why oh why oh why.

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 6.37.34 PM

It was about midnight in sim time when the kids finally started heading out of the water and going home. Never again am I taking them to the beach. NEVER AGAIN.

Up All Night

(to avoid Lucky)

Last time on the Mendeleev Legacy, we definitely had some parenting fails… and, well, we’re going to have a few more before the chapter is over.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.03.32 PM

I guess it’s safe to assume that one of Lucky’s s traits is ‘Insane’.

Doors: You built the house wrong. : P

I know, I know. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.06.04 PM

Laurel: Hi baby!

Strontium: Oh, now you pay attention to me. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.06.49 PM

Lucky: Dammit, why can’t I peek on Ruby in the shower?

Go away, you creep.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.08.16 PM

We’ve started getting pranks popping up around the house. I thought they were Rubidium’s doing, but she doesn’t get the ‘prank’ moodlet after the prank is successful (I checked for curiosity’s sake).

Rubidium: Lucky did it!

I believe you, dear. That thing is evil.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.08.52 PM

After Krypton got back from work and Rubidium got back from… who knows where… Laurel and Rubidium had some mommy-daughter time. At first I thought it was cute that Laurel had asked Ruby to feel her pregnant tummy. Krypton didn’t think it was cute.

Krypton: I’m tired.-_-

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.09.26 PM

But then Laurel kept asking again and again.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.09.45 PM

And then they talked about babies more.

Rubidium: You should buy them teddy bears so that they won’t be forced to play with evil dolls that come to life!

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.10.50 PM

They finally broke to go to bed at 2 AM on a school night. : /

Laurel: I’m lonely, hormonal, and I wanted to talk to someone about my babies.

Rubidium: I was stalling because I knew Lucky would be waiting for me to fall asleep. o_o

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.12.03 PM

Krypton wants Strontium to grow up well. I doubt that he can teach the kid everything he needs, but we can at least attempt one.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.13.28 PM

When the city hall opens, Krypton had some sort of opportunity or another. : / I have no idea what it was anymore; it was the kind where you send the sim to a rabbit-hole and the game counts it as doing something, and why are they called rabbit-holes anyway?

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.13.45 PM

Laurel: Well, time for baby.

Of course it’s when Krypton’s out. Of course.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.15.19 PM

Meet little Yttrium Mendeleev. The Y is pronounced like ‘ih’ according to, so it’s ih-tree-uhm. Yttrium is excitable and clumsy.

As the baby was being born, I was like ‘watch it be twins. just watch it be twins.’

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.16.37 PM

And welcome Zirconium Mendeleev, who’s insane and athletic. Also, they both love green. One likes Irish Green, but for all intents and purposes they’ll probably be wearing the same colors, so let’s hope they’re not identical.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.20.19 PM

Krypton got caught in one of Lucky’s pranks. I’m assuming it was Lucky.

Krypton: Whatever, as long as my beard survives intact.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.21.55 PM

… At least not until the twins are older. Not dealing with two tots and a cocoon while I can only control one sim.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.22.57 PM

Krypton’s disgusted face amused me, and Laurel’s awesome painting excited me. They’re not too far from adulthood, so founder painting imminent? I hope so. We get one shot at this.

Let’s check up on the other part of the family, shall we? You can skip this part if you aren’t familiar with or don’t care about them. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.02.06 AM

Lacey invited her boyfriend Max over…

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.03.24 AM

And proposed.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.03.47 AM

They had a lovely little wedding and Lacey moved out.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.06.14 AM

Gayby died and now joins his parents Vaughn and Mordecai. He is survived by his brother Susan and his brother-nephew-son Joffrey.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.06.40 AM

Susan’s getting pretty old too, and Joffrey’s moody. Also, Arsenic is still skilling his fishing up because I want to try to get him to level 10 of the science career.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.07.15 AM

Lacy: Whoo! Birthday!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.07.53 AM

Lacey is now an elder, and I let her keep her outfit that she picked. As a reminder, Arsenic’s still a young adult. : /

Sweetie Bot: Celebratory exclamation! The biological life form is nearer to termination than she was previously!

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.12.29 AM

I sent Arsenic to the elixir shop to find a skill or job boost potion, so why not mess with the alchemy station while we’re at it.

Arsenic: Don’t we have one of these at home?

Hush, you.

Screen Shot 2013-09-07 at 9.13.26 AM

Bromine: *sneak sneak*

Oh Bromine. I remember when you were awesome. Still are, but also annoying. : /

And that’s all I have so it’s stats time.

Homework? Help!

Guess what guess what guess what!

I now have a periodic table hanging right over my desk!! … well, over it and to the left a little. But still.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.44.01 PM

I’m pretty much definitely sure that Krypton has favorites. He wants to teach Strontium to walk, talk (not pictured), AND use the potty, but he wants to send Rubidium to boarding school. Which we’re not doing, because I want to see how she’ll act without me guiding her. And I’m not sure how much sending kids to boarding school fits in with the rules and the spirit of the ISBI.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.44.29 PM

Strontium: I’m adorable!

Yes you are! And still a ways away from making me want to facepalm.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.45.11 PM

I doubt we’ll finish everything, but we can at least go for learning to walk.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.45.36 PM

While Krypton taught Strontium, Laurel ran outside to vomit (probably, I wasn’t really privy to what was in her queue) and promptly forgot to vomit. And she doesn’t have the absent-minded trait.

Zombie: *crickets chirp in mind*

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.45.59 PM

I also noticed that this whole family was standing outside the empty Mendeleev Graveyard. That’s normal.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.47.27 PM

Laurel: Well, off to work!

Krypton: … you have a job?

My thoughts exactly.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.47.54 PM

Lucky: I’m a real boy!

No you’re not.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.48.16 PM

Rubidium ended up going to school without breakfast. Which is bad. Don’t do that, kids!

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.48.39 PM

Carmella: Rawr!

Sun’s up, time to go. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.49.23 PM

Then I reset a fairy zombie, but his wings were still there. xD

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.51.03 PM

Laurel had to leave work early for a pregnancy pop.

Laurel: And it was my first day back, too.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.51.36 PM

She makes it home before Krypton has to go for the carpool, so no babysitter needed!

Unfortunately, Strontium’s in the yellow and she decides to paint. : /

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.52.39 PM

Rubidium heads home with Gator Wolff.

Rubidium: We can bond over our strange names and our faces which differ wildly from the Face 1 norm.

Be proud of those faces.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.54.20 PM

Rubidium does not understand how to door.

To be fair, door does not understand how to door, either.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.55.06 PM

She goes inside to work on homework and is instead interrupted by this guy.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.55.23 PM

Rubidium: Did you not see me trying to do homework? Do you want me to fail and be punished?

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.55.44 PM

Rubidium: I’m going to put dye in his shower. :3

Well, you’re going to have to do that on your own. I can’t help you.

Rubidium: Homework first, revenge later.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.56.02 PM

Seriously, man?

I’m sure absent-minded Ruby has enough trouble focusing without you interrupting her every second.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.56.26 PM

He then tries to tell her a scary story. Luckily, Ruby decides to work on homework rather than listening to him.

Rubidium: So this is why they say to do homework at HOME, and not a werewolf’s house.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.57.07 PM

Of course, as soon as we get the dad off our backs, Gator is the one to interrupt her.

Rubidium: I don’t want to talk about gardening, Gator. I want to pull a prank.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.57.53 PM

Are you done yet? D: Go take care of the baby.

Laurel: Shhh. I’m in the zone.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.58.11 PM

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.58.47 PM

I check back on my dear Rubidium to discover she’s quite given up on homework. Today is not the family’s day, it seems.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 7.59.47 PM

Luckily, Krypton’s work day ends and he gets home in time to care for the baby before he starves to death. Laurel completes her painting soon after. I hope it was worth it, Laurel. I hope it was worth the therapy we’ll need to pay for now. Poor kid must have mommy issues out the wazoo.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.00.03 PM

Back to homework for Rubidium.

Completion Bar: I’m so sad and empty. 😦

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.00.09 PM

Rubidium: Fuck this, I’m going home.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.00.26 PM

Rubidium: Except ‘follow Laurel’ is in my queue, and I can’t because she’s in the bathroom!

Just go home.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.01.03 PM

Then she made this face when she saw Laurel leaving the bathroom.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 8.02.05 PM

Rubidium then goes to sleep with the lights on, because Lucky switched them on when he/she came in to poof next to the bed.

Lucky: All the better to see you with, my dear! *evil cackle*

Toddler Placement Problems

It is now time for a very brief update on what’s happening with the main family… very brief because I was only concerned about the graves at that point.

Screen Shot 2013-09-04 at 5.53.41 PM

What’s up, Sweetie Bot?

Sweetie Belle: I’m tired.

Too bad. Go check the graves.

Screen Shot 2013-09-04 at 5.54.34 PM

These two townie people happened to be checking out the graveyard.

Lady: Isn’t this exciting and historical, dear?

Man: Boooring.

Pay some respect to the dead, sir!

Man: But there aren’t any graves.

Screen Shot 2013-09-04 at 5.54.56 PM

*jaw drop*

Screen Shot 2013-09-04 at 5.55.33 PM

They’re not in front of the house, either!

Screen Shot 2013-09-04 at 5.56.31 PM

Lois: Or in the mausoleum.

In a last-ditch effort, I went to my backup save of this town (ALWAYS KEEP YOUR BACKUPS) and checked again.

Screen Shot 2013-09-04 at 6.02.33 PM

All there. I’m going to just keep them there for now. : /

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 2.55.14 PM

Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of an ISBI with a toddler. I was surprised to see that Laurel was actually a very attentive parent, taking care of Rubidium’s needs.

Oh Laurel… you had me hook line and sinker, didn’t you? I’ve played ahead of this; I know what’s coming.

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 2.56.11 PM

Krypton is out jogging for an opportunity or something, so let’s hope that the baby’s getting taken care of. Although I doubt that Laurel could be neglectful enough while he was jogging that the social worker would come to take them away.

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 2.58.34 PM

Laurel: Hi Ruby.

Rubidium: Mama!

That face. Tell me that is not the sweetest.

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 2.58.54 PM

Laurel then has an issue getting to the easel.

Laurel: She’s in the way!

Maybe if you hadn’t put her there?

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 2.59.47 PM

This issue works itself out.

Rubidium: I block front door now!

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.00.43 PM

Daddy-daughter hugs. :3

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.02.38 PM

Laurel completed the one before and starts a new painting. Kind of sad that she’s probably not going to get enough LTH points that I can change her LTW to something she can do. But I need to learn that I shouldn’t expect too much of my spouses in this.

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.05.45 PM

Laurel recycles the paper…

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.06.38 PM

Then goes into labor right in front of Rubidium. Who, if you’ll notice, has been placed right in front of the easel again.

Rubidium: *trying not to look* D: Just finish my bottle… finish the bottle so I can move…

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.07.00 PM

Rubidium: Or play with Lucky.

Pretty sure that’s its name.

Laurel: Our daughter is strange.

Krypton: I’m too tired for this.

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.07.21 PM

Laurel is taken to the hospital so Ruby won’t be scarred for life.

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.10.47 PM

I apparently have no pictures of the babysitter. Anyway, it’s a boy, and his name is Strontium! Strontium is athletic and perceptive. His favorite color is aqua, so together with Rubidium they can throw some wicked Miami Dolphins parties. : P

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.14.42 PM

More painting. Laurel is trying to single-handedly disprove everything I’ve seen of sims on autonomy not being able to finish paintings.

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.22.01 PM

Laurel: Hey St… Str… there’s no way I’m turning a name like Strontium into something that sounds normal, is there?

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.23.33 PM

I’m going to need to stop taking pictures every time she paints, aren’t I?

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 3.28.14 PM

But then I think my chapters would be half as long. : /

Screen Shot 2013-08-10 at 11.40.32 AM

Strontium grew up! He also got the nose, but he has Laurel’s hair as well. Not sure about anything else. Pretty sure he’s not a face clone of his sister, though. : /

Screen Shot 2013-08-10 at 11.43.06 AM

Strontium with his makeover.

Strontium: Heir favorite?

Hush, I have to see how your personality is too.

Screen Shot 2013-08-10 at 11.46.39 AM

Guess what just happened~!

You can tell because Krypton looks so excited.

Screen Shot 2013-08-10 at 11.57.24 AM

Ruby grew up and is now a grumpy, absent-minded slob. She’s also a cutie, and has inherited her mother’s ears. … didn’t she grow up during full moon last time, too?

Rubidium: Yes. You have a problem with that?

Screen Shot 2013-08-10 at 11.57.56 AM

Ruby gets her own room so she won’t be bothered by Strontium if he screams. I remembered you could set their beds without sending them to them after I’d already used Ruby’s command. I’m being honest here. : P

Anyway, I found this scorecard that’s used for Goth-Sanity (which is awesome) and I like it better for my ISBI so I’m switching to using something that’s based on it.

The ISBI Gets a Little Stranger

Krypton has now married a non-glitching wife (not that the glitches weren’t partially my fault… >_> <_<) and the next thing on his to-do list is to have at least one heir, as required by the ISBI rules so we can have another torch-holder.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 2.20.06 PM

Also on his to-do list: his new wife. She’s already popped into maternity, so I’m pretty sure I missed the picture for that. I’d say sorry, but I don’t think we really need a picture of Laurel right before/after she popped, with some mention about how it took hours and hours for her to get changed. : /

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 2.20.16 PM

We did, however, need a picture of Laurel and Krypton beneath the sheets. I honestly don’t know what goes through my head when I’m playing and taking pictures, sometimes.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 2.20.55 PM

Laurel: Next time I want you to dress in a maid uniform.

Krypton: I don’t think I’ll be the one dressed like a maid, dear.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.03.56 PM

Krypton: I have the savvy sculptor trait, so maybe I can get into sculpting…

Laurel: Please don’t quit your job. We need to support the baby somehow. : /

Maybe when you’re closer to maxing your logic and athletic. Then we can talk.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.04.29 PM

Krypton: I would never quit my job while we still need it to support our baby, sugar nose.

Laurel: :3

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.08.26 PM

Krypton: Hello baby. Hello, Rubidium.

Kid’s going to have a hell of a time in kindergarten when it’s time to learn how to write their names… or when it’s time for the other kids to be able to pronounce the Mendeleev kid names…

That’s my name.
I took my time to learn it.
Won’t you do the same?

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.09.13 PM

Laurel’s just a boss at this ISBI stuff and does things like skilling and cleaning whenever she’s got the day alone. As soon as they have the space and money for it, I’m buying the family an easel to see if she’ll get he skill up enough to paint a portrait of her husband. There will be no painting of every single person in the family, but it might be possible to paint the TH and *possibly* his spouse?

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.12.48 PM

The founding generation is adorable, and no one can tell me otherwise. Laurel Grisby is quickly making her way as my favorite pre-made sim evers.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.14.03 PM

What’s wrong, Krypton? You saw a big spider or something in the house?

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.14.10 PM

Oh, Laurel’s going into labor. I guess that is something to freak out about… although I wouldn’t put it past his cowardly self to freak out over a spider. Or a mouse, if I had Pets installed.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.15.46 PM

Meet the first bouncing bundle of joy to enter the household, little Rubidium Mendeleev. Her favorite color is orange, and she likes Egyptian music and I think the porcini dish? She’s absent-minded and a slob… I can already tell she’s going to be a fun sim to have around the house when I can’t control her…

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.18.14 PM

Into the crib you go! We indeed had enough money for Rubidium to have a crib and a room to herself.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.23.08 PM

I might have lied a bit about the ONLY things Laurel does being skilling, but when she does sit down to watch television, I let her do so because she deserves it… not that I have any choice in the matter, other than taking the television from the house and putting it in the family inventory.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.25.14 PM

Baby is not being neglected, not that I thought she would be with the way that Laurel is owning the ISBI thing.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.26.50 PM

Krypton: *sniffle* No mommy, I don’t wanna go to the doctor!

Laurel: I wish we had a computer…

One, we can’t afford it. Two, I don’t want Laurel to soil her perfect track record by playing computer games all day or finding some other guy to date online.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.27.30 PM

Laurel’s not the only one to take care of Rubidium; she’s just the one that’s home the most.

Krypton: Hi baby! Daddy loves you! He loves you more when you’re not crying!

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.28.55 PM

Laurel has indeed begun painting. The question is whether she’ll finish anything. In the ISBIs I’ve read, a painting begun by a non-TH has about 0% chance of being completed. But I have high hopes for this one.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.30.56 PM

Why did I take this?

Krypton: Um… Soft kitty,
Warm kitty,
Little ball of fur.
Happy kitty,
Sleepy kitty,
Purr, purr, purr.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.32.17 PM

Lo and behold, Laurel returned to her half-finished painting and completed it!

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.34.51 PM

Laurel: I like our baby, don’t you?

Krypton: Our genes mix with very good results.

Laurel: Let’s practice mixing our genes. 😉

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.37.35 PM

Laurel: Good morning, Ruby. Ready for your bottle?

Laurel shortened the baby’s name from Rubidium to Ruby, because Rubidium is no name for a little girl.

But who are we kidding? It’s the BEST name for a little girl.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.39.35 PM

Laurel plays chess by herself while waiting for Krypton to come home from work.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.41.12 PM

She then got up and put her baby on the floor, since it was Rubidium’s birthday! Good-bye, little cocoon worm child! Hello toddler!

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.41.29 PM

Laurel: We interrupt the birthday of my first-born child to announce that I’m pregnant!

As she stands by the wall where I can’t get a very good shot.

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 3.46.13 PM

But anyway, this is Rubidium. She has an IF whose name I don’t remember. I would so name it Cyrano, but she’s past the point where you can rename them in the game. : /
